Adam Kaye was born in Tallahasse, Florida. He studied entrepreneurship at Florida State University and International Business at the American University of Paris. But his true passion was for the performing arts. Adam adopted the professional name Michael Todd to pursue a career in modeling and acting.
While working as a model and actor, Michael became interested in the makeup and skincare challenges posed by Hi Definition photography and filming. The extremely sharp resolution of this technique needed a new level of products and artistry in order minimize flaws. With his innovative mind and business background as well as his studies in cosmetology, Michael wanted to develop a new generation of makeup and skincare products capable of displaying the face to its full potential.
A chance encounter with Lewis Hendler, the co-founder of scunci International, one of the world’s best known hair accessory brands, led to a collaboration and a shared passion for a new approach to cosmetics with a simple goal in mind, personalized cosmetics that work to make the Michael Todd client look their absolute best.
…and so Michael Todd Cosmetics was born.
Adopting the standard Perform, Reform and Transform, experts in the fields of makeup, skincare and fragrance were consulted and more than a year of research went into identifying the products that would comprise the Michael Todd Cosmetics line. To make the cosmetics as personalized as possible, the widest range of formulas and colors were used. When completed, the line of more than 1,100 products makes Michael Todd Cosmetics one of, if not the largest, selection of high-caliber cosmetics in the world.
Recognizing this is a new generation of cosmetics; Michael Todd Cosmetics adopted a digital approach to create an expert driven online beauty retailer. Foregoing traditional retailers and embracing digital distribution, the company will launch a unique and interactive Internet cosmetic boutique in December of 2009. MichaelToddCosmetics.com will be the only source where the products can be purchased. Comprising more than 150 room-pages, it is the largest Web store of its kind anywhere on the Internet.
